Stall Warning

Welp, I guess all that progress had to slow down at some point.

One of our future neighbors invited us to look at his place a couple weeks ago, and we were kind of surprised some of the things that had been completed in our house that hadn't yet been done in his – granite, sinks, etc. Our guess is that they either start with the lower units first and work upwards, or possibly start with the end units and move inwards.

Either way, we went out there this weekend and it looks pretty much the exact same. Nothing new except cabinet pulls.

Our mortgage lady emailed us and told us she anticipated a closing date of November 1st (a whole month earlier than anticipated), and then a day later said November 9th. We would be thrilled to move in earlier, but I'm trying not to make any hard plans or let my crazy go into overdrive until we get something official.

LEMON OUT.

  1. I know of our townhouse building, they do everything right to left, and we're towards the left end. So I'm sure with your building they probably have some sort of order that they do things in. Closing a month earlier is exciting! I hope everything works out well for you! :)

  2. I noticed during your last update that they are really, really making great progress on your home, everything is coming together much faster on yours. Are you excited about closing a month early? I would have cried with joy, but then we were pretty much homeless at the time. :-)
My neighbors home also seemed to have faster progress than ours, but we ended up closing almost two weeks earlier than both, so I'm not sure what the rhyme or reason is to home building.

    1. Oh man, we are SO excited about closing early! Honestly, I just keep trying to not even think about it too much, because otherwise I wouldn't have the patience to wait!

  3. I love your GIF choice! Like Rachel said, they usually start with one end and work through the block. Our block started with the lot that ended with A and worked toward the lot that ended with F. Either way, hope you see more progress soon and it's exciting that you're closing early!

  4. Great news on the early closing. In our row of homes, they finished the homes left to right. Sometimes if there were 2 trades working on the house then the second group would go right to left.
